Eventually a footbridge was built about 200 metres downstream from the old crossing log. The trail was rerouted on the opposite side of the creek for the intervening 200 metres. At the southeast end of the bridge, the Valemount boy scout troop established a log shelter which was a destination for several outings over the years.
